Retention Before Disposition

The HRIS record lifecycle The recordkeeping problem is not keep versus delete. It is controlled lifecycle. HRIS records need accountability, protection, availability, retention, and disposition. Each principle answers a different operational question: who owns this record, who can see it, when must it be available, how long must it remain, and how do we prove it was disposed correctly? In HRIS administration, the risky pattern is the catch-all employee folder.
