Explain the operational risk handoff created by an Incoterms rule.
Incoterms are often treated as back-office shorthand, but they change transport execution. The term can determine who books the carrier, who pays origin handling, who arranges insurance, who clears export, and where loss risk transfers. If the operations team reads only the rate quote and ignores the Incoterm, it may book a leg the seller owns, fail to insure the correct risk period, or discover too late that the named handoff point is vague.
