Interaction Design and Micro-interactions

Design delightful, functional interactions that respond intuitively to user actions.

Interaction design focuses on how users interact with digital products—what happens when they click, tap, scroll, or hover. Micro-interactions are small, functional animations or responses that provide feedback (button pressing, loading states, error messages). Well-designed interactions feel responsive and intuitive, reducing user frustration and increasing satisfaction. Poor interaction design leaves users uncertain about whether their action registered. Principles include: providing immediate feedback, keeping interactions fast (sub-100ms), being consistent across the product, and avoiding unnecessary animations. Interaction design bridges the gap between wireframes and final products, defining behavior that pure static mockups can't show.
