Listen for Forces, Not Just Pain
Use forces-of-progress thinking to explain why a customer changes now.
The move: explain the timing of change. Do not stop at pain. Pain is often old news. The better discovery question is: what changed in the customer’s world that made the old workaround stop being acceptable? When you map forces, you can design better interventions. Strengthen pull with a clearer promised outcome, reduce anxiety with proof and onboarding, or weaken habit by fitting the existing workflow.
