What customer metric would it improve?” Do not let solution nouns enter the need statement. It keeps the evidence while recovering the customer’s success measure. Useful verbs Minimize time, reduce likelihood, increase confidence, improve ability to detect, verify, coordinate, recover, or decide. Pick the verb that matches the job step.
