Diagnose Readiness Before You Inspire
Diagnose task-specific readiness before choosing a leadership style.
The reframe: readiness is about this task, not this person. Situational Leadership works because it gives leaders a diagnostic before they act. Instead of asking, "Am I a supportive leader or a directive leader?" ask, "What does this task require from this person right now?" That question prevents two expensive errors: abandoning someone who needs structure and smothering someone who is ready for ownership.
