Recognize nip points by identifying motion pairs that catch, pull, and trap hands, clothing, or material.
Nip points are motion pairs. Do not wait for teeth, blades, or obvious crushing plates. Nip points often look ordinary until a glove, sleeve, rag, or fingertip gets caught. The recognition pattern is simple: Find motion. Roller, belt, pulley, gear, chain, shaft, wheel, or moving material. Find convergence. Two moving surfaces meet, or one moving surface approaches a fixed edge. Find access. A normal task puts hands, clothing, tools, or material near that convergence. Find the control.
