Work Through a Drill Press Guard Review

A drill press has a front shield, but operators hand-hold small brackets and clear chips with a rag. Review the setup by hazard, exposure, safeguard, and verification, not by guard presence alone. Common trap: count the visible shield as complete guarding while ignoring hand-held workpieces, rotating chuck exposure, and chip-clearing behavior. Hazard Name every injury mechanism: bit entering metal, rotating chuck, spinning workpiece, and sharp chips. This prevents the review from collapsing to the single most obvious hazard.
