Map nip points on a roller machine by tracing motion, access, task, and control.
A roller coating machine has multiple rollers. The obvious coating head is guarded, but cleanup puts sleeves near feed rollers and a drive belt. Map nip points by motion, convergence, task, and control. Common trap: guard the main product contact point and ignore the drive-side belt, feed rollers, and cleanup positions where pull-in still exists. Trace motion Draw direction arrows for each roller, belt, chain, and sprocket before judging the guard. Motion direction shows where material, gloves, or sleeves can be carried.
