Make Every Chart Title a Claim
Write chart titles that name the message and point the reader to the right comparison.
A good chart title reduces interpretation load. Say the finding Storytelling with Data emphasizes using design choices to focus attention. The title is the first focus cue: it can either say “what this is” or “what this means.” Anchor the comparison A claim-title should include a baseline, time period, segment, or threshold when that context changes the interpretation. Without the comparison, readers often supply their own.
