After-Action Without Blame

The point of an AAR is learning fast enough to change the next shift. Start With Intent Ask what was supposed to happen. This anchors the review to the plan, standard, weather briefing, guest expectation, or safety target. Without intent, the team reviews feelings instead of performance. Compare Reality Ask what actually happened. Keep this factual: time, place, roles, conditions, observed actions, and sequence. Do not let the first answer become the whole story.
