You do not need a quieter mind to make a values-aligned move. Notice the cue ACT frames mindfulness as part of psychological flexibility: contacting the present moment fully, making room for difficult internal experience, and choosing behavior in service of values. At work this matters because many unhelpful moves are avoidance moves in professional clothing: over-explaining to avoid disapproval, checking Slack to avoid a hard draft, agreeing to a deadline to avoid tension.
