Use observation and presence to hear a colleague before preparing your rebuttal.
Listening becomes useful when you track what is alive, not what you will say next. Notice the cue Nonviolent Communication turns reactivity into contact by separating observations, feelings, needs, and requests. Mindfulness is the front door: you notice the body charge and the judgmental story before you speak it as fact. Then you translate. 'You ignored my roadmap' becomes 'When the roadmap item was skipped in the Tuesday deck, I felt worried because I need shared priorities; can we decide where it sits today?'
