Measure Behavior, Not Applause
Choose evidence for an adult-learning intervention that reaches beyond reaction and recall.
Backward from behavior Kirkpatrick is a useful antidote to vanity metrics. Level 1 reaction tells you whether the experience was acceptable. Level 2 learning tells you whether the learner can explain or select the right answer. Level 3 behavior tells you whether they do it at work. Level 4 results asks whether the behavior matters to the system. What to notice Use the idea as a design test: can the learner see the work problem, connect it to experience, try a decision, and leave with a next action?
