Treat Production Variance as Risk
Identify when a mining production deviation should be treated as an operational risk rather than normal noise.
The number is not the risk; the effect on the objective is the risk. Context before reaction Start by naming the operational objective. A mine shift can miss tonnes, grade, availability, water balance, or safety exposure targets. Each objective has a different tolerance and decision window. Without context, every red number looks equally urgent. Cause before control A deviation needs a cause hypothesis before it needs a countermeasure.
