Model monitoring starts with service health, then adds decision health. The Four Service Signals Latency, traffic, errors, and saturation are still the foundation. They answer whether inference is fast, used, successful, and resourced. A model endpoint with no latency budget or saturation alert can fail exactly like any other service. The Model-Aware Layer Models can fail silently. Add proxies that reveal decision behavior: feature missingness, prediction distribution, fallback rate, threshold crossing volume, calibration proxy, override rate, and delayed label quality.
