Use the Nutrition Care Process to separate assessment, diagnosis, intervention, and monitoring before giving nutrition advice.
Do not turn a recall into a prescription too fast. The four-step filter The Nutrition Care Process gives counseling a sequence: assessment, diagnosis, intervention, and monitoring/evaluation. The value is not paperwork. The value is forcing the counselor to ask, 'What problem does this client actually have, and what evidence would show progress?' before giving advice.
