Offboarding is a three-lane runway: work continuity, organizational learning, and access control. Lane 1: Knowledge transfer The handoff is not the document. The handoff is the recipient's ability to perform. Start by listing decisions, recurring tasks, relationships, systems, exceptions, and judgment calls. Then assign each item a recipient and a proof: shadowed, reverse-demoed, documented, or handed over live. Lane 2: Exit interview The exit conversation is not therapy and it is not a defense brief.
