Write an operational risk statement that links uncertainty to a specific objective.
Risk Is Uncertainty Against an Objective ISO 31000 is useful because it makes risk management part of decision-making, not a separate paperwork lane. In operational risk, that starts with the objective. A payment process, access review, customer onboarding queue, or vendor dependency is only 'risky' in relation to what it can stop the organization from achieving.
