Distinguish current performance evidence from future potential and role readiness in calibration.
The reframe: high potential is not a performance rating; it is a future-scope hypothesis. Performance Current performance asks what the person delivered against the goals, standards, and role expectations in this cycle. It should be grounded in observable evidence from the review window. Potential Potential asks whether the person shows capacity for larger or more ambiguous work. Evidence may include learning speed, judgment, influence, strategic thinking, or adaptability, but it still needs examples.
