Build a Behavioral Rating Anchor

Write behaviorally anchored rating examples for a vague calibration competency.

The competency says "strategic influence," but managers are applying different private definitions in calibration. A behavioral anchor should include action, scope, and result so the rating level is observable. The common trap is replacing one vague phrase with another, such as "shows executive presence" or "thinks strategically," which still leaves the room guessing. Action Name the visible behavior: frames tradeoffs, secures agreement, escalates with options. Behavior is what an observer could hear, read, or see in work artifacts.
