Blueprint the First-Visit Intake

Identify frontstage, backstage, and support-process causes of first-visit intake delays.

If intake starts at the front desk, the delay probably started earlier. Service blueprinting makes the full delivery system visible. It places patient actions on top, staff actions in view of the patient underneath, backstage actions below the line of visibility, and support processes at the bottom. Patient Actions These are the steps the patient takes: answering the booking call, opening the intake email, uploading referral documents, arriving, paying, and scheduling the next visit.
