Use examples when style matters
Use one or two examples to steer structure, tone, and judgment in a professional prompt.
Few-shot prompting means giving the model examples of the input-output pattern you want. Use it when the task has a house style, a judgment pattern, or a format that is hard to describe in abstract language. Examples are especially useful for emails, performance feedback, sales summaries, rubric scoring, and data-to-narrative work. A clean example block has three parts: Input: the kind of material the model will receive. Good output: the shape and standard you want. Rule: what to copy and what not to copy.
