Run async norms as experiments
Use PDCA to test, measure, and adjust an async communication norm.
A team cannot agree whether daily async updates are useful. The debate is preference-heavy and evidence-light. PDCA: Plan, Do, Check, Act The common trap is making a permanent team rule from the loudest preference. That creates resistance and little learning. Plan Hypothesis: three structured updates per week will reduce clarification pings and missed dependencies. A plan needs the behavior, duration, and signal. Without a signal, the team will judge by mood. Do For two weeks, project owners post Monday/Wednesday/Friday with Progress, Blocker, Next Decision.
