Do not wait for the right mood
Explain why cue-based implementation intentions outperform mood-based starts.
The move: replace mood gates with observable cues. A cue can be seen or heard: after standup ends, when the calendar block starts, when I close the client call, when the coffee is on the desk. A mood is slippery: when I feel clear, when I have energy, when I am less annoyed. Implementation intentions work because the cue activates the planned response without reopening the whole debate. Pomodoro strengthens this because you are not promising endless effort. You are promising a defined interval. Temptation bundling adds immediate reward, but it should attach to the sprint, not to the mood.…
