The move: write the downside in the same room as the upside. Benefit A benefit is the positive measurable change the initiative exists to create. It may be financial, service, risk, compliance, employee, or strategic value. Disbenefit A disbenefit is a negative measurable effect caused by the change. It is not automatically a reason to stop. It is a reason to make the trade-off explicit. Mitigation Mitigation changes the design, rollout, controls, or adoption plan so the disbenefit becomes acceptable.
