Start the BIA with time, not systems
Explain why a business impact analysis should classify activities by impact over time before naming recovery solutions.
The move: ask when the impact becomes unacceptable before you ask which system is down. A BIA turns a disruption from a vague emergency into a timed business judgment. The core question is not "Which tool matters?" Every team can defend its favorite tool. The better question is "Which activity must resume by when, at what minimum capacity, to prevent unacceptable harm?"
