Rehearse one difficult informed-consent explanation with teach-back before the next participant-facing consent visit. Choose a real protocol concept that participants often misunderstand: randomization, placebo, uncertain benefit, alternatives, confidentiality, injury contact, costs, or withdrawal. A participant is likely to ask whether randomization means the doctor is not choosing the best treatment. A consent form includes placebo language that could be misunderstood as no care.
