Design the blast radius, not just the happy path

Explain blast radius as a design choice across reliability, identity, networking, and data boundaries.

The move: treat containment as an architecture requirement. A cloud workload has many paths for damage to spread: a shared IAM role, a flat network, a synchronous dependency chain, a global config flag, a shared database, or a deployment pipeline that updates every region at once. Blast-radius design asks a direct question: if this part fails or is compromised, what is it allowed to affect? Reliability boundary Use isolation, redundancy, queues, throttles, and graceful degradation so one unhealthy component does not drag the whole customer journey down.
