Classify common brew observations by whether they call for more extraction, less extraction, or a strength change.
Sort each brew observation into the strongest first-adjustment bucket. More extraction Less or more even extraction Strength or ratio change Fast drawdown, sour and hollow, low TDS more-extraction Slow drawdown, dry finish, muddy bed less-even Balanced flavor, watery body, low TDS strength Sweet and clean, but too heavy for service Normal TDS, sour-bitter split, channel trench Sour and thin, water below working window Dial-in classification You sorted the signal before choosing the lever. Ask whether the issue is amount dissolved, evenness of dissolving, or concentration in the cup.
