Scale a batch recipe without losing extraction
Scale a brewed coffee recipe by preserving brew ratio and then adjusting grind for flow and extraction.
A 300 g test brew uses 18 g coffee, 93 C water, and a medium grind. It tastes balanced at 1.26 percent TDS. You need a 2 L batch for a meeting. Preserve brew ratio first, then adjust grind for the larger bed and brewer geometry. The novice move is to multiply dose and water, then assume the same grind will behave identically in a deeper or wider bed. Step 1 Find the ratio: 18 g coffee for 300 g water equals 60 g/L.
