Commit to an escalation script before the next incident

Commit to a specific moderation escalation handoff that names situation, behavior, impact, owner, and decision needed.

Create and use a first-handoff escalation script for a community moderation incident involving privacy exposure, direct harassment, or suspected coordination. The script is for the moment a volunteer or on-duty moderator needs help from a shift lead, Trust and Safety owner, Legal, Support, or community manager. Escalation script: "Situation: [thread/channel/time]. Behavior: [observable action]. Impact: [privacy, safety, trust, or thread usefulness risk]. Already done: [containment/evidence/member message]. Responsible right now: [person doing work]. Accountable needed: [person who owns final call]. Decision needed by [time]: [approve notice, enforcement level, lock/reopen, external consult]."
