Remember that pixels are light measurements

Explain why lighting, color space, and resolution changes affect computer-vision results.

The move: inspect the image signal before touching the model. Pixels are measurements of light. When light, camera angle, compression, or resolution changes, the data distribution changes too. In many beginner projects, the model is blamed for a problem that started in image capture. Color spaces are a simple example. RGB stores intensities in red, green, and blue channels. HSV separates hue, saturation, and value. For some color-driven tasks, HSV can make the useful signal easier to isolate; for other tasks, edges or texture matter more than color.
