Separate Data from Story
Separate observable data from selected meaning before acting on a leadership judgment.
The move: do not let a story wear a fact badge. A leader's brain is a meaning-making machine. It selects data, assigns meaning, makes assumptions, draws conclusions, and then acts. That speed is useful for routine judgment, but it becomes costly in tense moments because the skipped steps are where bias, fear, and old patterns enter. Data Start with what a camera or transcript could capture: "Lena did not speak in three meetings" is data. "Lena is disengaged" is a conclusion. Meaning Name your interpretation as an interpretation.
