Design every bot turn as a cooperative move

The move: design the turn as cooperation, not output. A conversational assistant inherits the norms of human conversation. Users expect it to contribute enough, tell the truth, stay relevant, and be clear. Those expectations map cleanly to Grice's maxims: quantity, quality, relation, and manner.
