Make service recovery specific, not generous

Use SERVQUAL/RATER dimensions to diagnose what kind of guest trust was damaged and choose the right recovery.

The move: diagnose the broken trust before offering the recovery. SERVQUAL turns a broad complaint into five service-quality dimensions: reliability, assurance, tangibles, empathy, and responsiveness. That matters on a cruise ship because a guest complaint often contains several emotions at once. The leader who hears only anger may offer money.
