Classify common defense contracting risks by proportionate treatment type.
Place each contracting situation into the strongest first treatment bucket. Use accept when the exposure is tolerable, reduce when controls can lower likelihood or impact, transfer when another party or mechanism should carry defined exposure, and avoid when the work should change or stop.
