Frame the job before the solution
Use a Jobs to Be Done frame to select the right user moment for a sprint.
The move: sprint on a job, not a persona. A persona can describe who someone is. A job describes the progress they are trying to make. Design sprints benefit from that distinction because the team must choose one testable slice of a much larger problem. Situation Name the trigger moment. What just happened that made the user reach for help? Progress Name the outcome the user is trying to create. Avoid product language at first. Constraint Name the pressure: time, risk, confidence, politics, cost, or missing information. Once the job is clear, the sprint can prototype the moment of progress.…
