Separate mandatory disclosure from courtesy disclosure
Distinguish mandatory AI-use disclosure triggers from discretionary trust-building disclosures.
The move: do not use one disclosure rule for every AI use. Mandatory disclosure comes from a rule: law, contract, company policy, platform terms, or a role-specific professional standard. Courtesy disclosure comes from trust: the audience would reasonably care because AI affected evidence, analysis, authorship, authenticity, or consent.
