Map the risk before the model
Use Map, Measure, Manage, and Govern to frame edge AI risk before deployment.
The move: risk-map the use case before tuning the model. NIST AI RMF is useful for edge AI because it turns responsible AI from a slogan into operating questions. Map: what is the system really doing? Name the setting, users, affected people, sensors, data flows, decisions, and foreseeable misuse. A model that only recommends maintenance has a different risk profile from one that blocks a worker from entering a site. Measure: what evidence will reveal the risk?
