Commit to a specific post-complaint follow-up that checks for retaliation risk and normal work access.
Prepare a retaliation-safe follow-up after an employee reports harassment, discrimination, grievance, accommodation concern, or participates as a witness. Use this when a complaint could trigger manager defensiveness, witness pressure, schedule changes, opportunity loss, or social exclusion. Within three business days of the complaint, I will check: schedule, access, client or project opportunities, manager communication, witness pressure, and performance scrutiny. If anything changed, I will document the independent business reason or pause the change until HR reviews it.
