Map the Power Behind the Ticket

Use a power-interest lens to decide who to brief first and how to tailor escalation updates.

Not every stakeholder needs the same update. A power-interest map keeps escalation communication from becoming generic. It asks two questions: How much influence does this person have over outcomes? and How much do they care about this issue right now? High power, high interest These people need concise facts, current assessment, and clear decision points. High power, lower interest They usually want confidence that the issue is owned and not drifting. Lower power, high interest They often need practical guidance, scripts, timing, and reassurance.
