Ethics Is Bigger Than Legal
Apply multiple ethical lenses when the law or policy gives an incomplete answer.
When policy is silent, use more than one ethical lens. Legal Floor Rules matter, but they do not exhaust professional responsibility. A practice can be allowed and still unfair, manipulative, careless, or corrosive to trust. Multiple Lenses Consequences, rights, justice, common good, care, and virtue each reveal a different failure mode. The point is not to make ethics abstract. The point is to keep one convenient answer from crowding out affected people. Defensible Judgment A stronger decision is one you can explain to the people affected, not just to the lawyer who approved the wording.
