Describe when and why to use the recovery position after DRABC.
The recovery position is airway protection. The trigger condition Use it when DRABC tells you the person is unresponsive but breathing normally. That condition matters. If breathing is abnormal, noisy gasping, absent, or uncertain after a short check, call emergency help, get an AED, and start CPR according to training instead. Why side position helps Unresponsive muscles relax. The tongue can narrow the airway, and vomit or blood can pool.
