Design a prototype around one testable core-loop hypothesis.
Build the learning vehicle first. The Build-Measure-Learn loop is a way to avoid spending scarce time on untested beliefs. In games, the riskiest belief is usually not 'can we make content?' It is 'will the repeated action be worth repeating?' That is why the first prototype should target a core loop rather than the whole pitch. Keep the loop small enough that you can observe it. Define what the player does, what feedback they receive, what changes in game state, and why they might do it again.
