Do not confuse life stage with generation

Use a four-lens check to avoid misreading generational behavior.

The move: split the signal. A generation story often hides more precise variables. "Older employees resist the new tool" might actually mean people with full client loads cannot attend training. "Younger employees want faster promotion" might mean new hires have no visibility into skill expectations. Use a four-lens check. Cohort asks what shared historical context might matter. Age or life stage asks what responsibilities, energy patterns, or risk calculations might be present now. Tenure asks how well someone knows the local system.
