Start with the spatial decision, not the map
Frame a geospatial analysis as a decision question with units, geography, time, and uncertainty before building a map.
The move: write the spatial question before building the map. A good geospatial brief starts with the action the analysis will support. "Show incidents" is not a decision. "Choose the 5 intersections for speed-calming pilots" is a decision. Once the decision is explicit, the analyst can choose the right unit, time window, and uncertainty checks.
