Create a short-horizon forecast using on-the-books rooms, expected pickup, and cancellation adjustment.
Thursday arrival: 74 rooms on the books in a 110-room hotel. Comparable pickup from this point: 22, 18, 26, 20 rooms. Expected cancellations: 6 rooms. Short-horizon forecast = on-the-books + expected pickup - expected cancellations, interpreted against capacity and uncertainty. Reacting to 67% on-the-books occupancy without considering the remaining booking window. Average the comparable pickup (22 + 18 + 26 + 20) ÷ 4 = 21.5 expected pickup rooms.
