Pre-mortem the freezer before it fails
Use a simple FMEA lens to rank freezer risks by severity, occurrence, and detectability.
Reframe: the freezer problem is not only the breakdown; it is the missed detection. FMEA stands for Failure Mode and Effects Analysis. Use it to think forward from possible failures instead of backward after a loss. A shop version can be lightweight: failure mode, effect, cause, current detection, and next prevention action. Severity Ask what happens if the failure reaches the customer or the product. Melted inventory, unsafe temperatures, ruined texture, and refund waves do not carry the same consequence.
