Map the IP before the roadmap moves
Create a first-pass IP asset register that links assets to owners, business use, and protection gaps.
The move: name the asset before you debate the protection. An IP register is a working map of intangible assets. It should show what the asset is, who created it or supplied it, where the business uses it, how it is currently protected, and what decision is still open. The register is not a substitute for legal advice. It is the operating layer that lets product, marketing, engineering, procurement, and counsel talk about the same thing.
